I also wouldn't look at the UFA D. If Andersson is being traded then the plan has to be to make room for Parekh / Brzustewicz.
We really need a July 1st trade partner who is flush on young Cs and needs a RD.

Out of those two I really want us to go for Lambert. His offensive upside is bigger than Yager’s. Plus, WPG just acquired him not too long ago.
Lambert+ 1st + Stanley wouldn’t be bad. WPG would roll with Andersson / Pionk / Demelo on the right side and let Pionk go. They could then re-sign Ehlers.
EDIT: anyone high on Perfetti? Perfetti and a decent prospect (or 2nd/cond. 1st based on playoff success) for Andersson wouldn’t be bad either.

I would like Lambert as well but my guess would be Winnipeg would much prefer trading Yager at this point. The Jets are in their competitive window right now and Lambert is more NHL-ready than Yager so he fits more to help them win now. I also think Ehlers is going to be moving on anyways so Lambert seems like the perfect fit to replace him. They have similar skill sets so he could fit right in place of Ehlers. As you mentioned, Lambert has higher offensive upside so Winnipeg likely prefers his skillset to Yager’s.
It’s really tough to pry away an organizations #1 prospect unless it’s for another team’s #1 prospect. The only team off the top of my head that has regularly traded their top prospects for veteran players is Vegas.
