Flames definitely need a high end forward prospect over quantity right now and so if they can package those three picks to jump up and get a potential 1C like Ryabkin, Desnoyers or Frondell that would be fantastic.
We can't undervalue the experience of making the playoffs through lots of hard work. That levels up the whole team versus getting one more good player.

In order for roster players to be subtracted I think the Flames will need to fall out of the race. That, or it ends up being a hockey trade.

But hockey trades are chemistry experiments, and that's risky when the current team seems to be bubbling along nicely.
