So its a work in progress. I'd be a lot more excited if he was over a ppg at this stage, but he hasn't fallen so far off the mark that he already looks like a wasted pick.

Yeah it's a bit of both.
I think he's doing better than a lot of people expected.
And OJHL to NCAA is a huge step even in a weak conference. So being around a PPG is good.
But the thing that limits the excitement is his age. If he was 18/19 and doing this in his draft+1 we'd all be pretty excited. But with him being 20 turning 21 in May that kind of deflates the excitement a bit.
