Sounds like you are about to get wound up about things you have no control over. It will be what it will be, man.

I feel as though I could have written this response for you as an addendum to my own post. I already knew you would write it as I was typing. Nothing if not predictable my good man!
Is it a good idea for a franchise to divorce itself so wantonly from the fans? Isn't an ideal scenario the fans feeling like a "we"? We would buy more merchandise and pay for more tickets that way, no doubt.
Unlike some folks, I am an adult and able to separate feelings in my life. So I can indeed get wound up over how I feel the franchise is being mismanaged at an absolutely critical juncture without it effecting my daily life at all. I am even still watching and enjoying great hockey games!
But, it's hard not to be deeply concerned that the mirage of a playoff berth will keep the team from doing the right thing. They've consistently not done the right thing in this regard for 30 years. Conroy said he wouldn't get blinded at begining of season, but indications from his more recent interviews and Edwards' interview seem to show that they are going to make that same pattern of mistakes again. I don't think it's unreasonable to optimistically hope and shout into the universe that they don't make the mistake.
Bonded,
Yes, Solovyov isn't Rasmus Andersson. But we should give Solovyov a shot like we gave coronato, Kerins... He is performing well and deserves it. Our youth have carried the team this year. And it also doesnt actually matter long term if we make the playoffs- this is where the ownership of the team and the fans seem to disagree.
It would be better for the longterm health of the franchise to trade andersson and see if Solovyov can fill even 75 % of the gap. I think he might be able to, and if not, oh well! Slightly better draft pick.
