A community built in 1990 should be redeveloped by 2030 imo.

The mob and politicians have gotten to you! This is an artificial way to stimulate local economies. Not substantial and a one time boost.
Like seriously we preached reuse reuse and recycle through the 80s and 90s yet the corporations won. We have a throw out culture with cheaply made #### from over seas manufacturing. Now that mentally has made it to big purchase items. Homes,120 grand cars, new majour infrastructure. Back in the day this is my 68 vette and I'll fix it till I die etc etc.
We don't fix things anymore more because fixing something to be new isn't as exciting. Something new fills the dopamine levels. It's new ,exciting, sexy it's different etc.
I do t know the point I'm trying to make. It's just I see these projects so politicians and big monetary within a community can keep the plebs in place and show the "economy is fine" with artificially creating excitement.
Like an artificial way to collect taxes . Raising taxes isn't sexy saying " we need to raise taxes to maintain our way of life" vs here's a new thing Taxes will double vs renovation but it will draw new blood* whispering for a short period untill we need another new attraction * cough cough* but that short time boost will distract you and other serfs untill you get bored and then we need to consider a new building again.
You wouldn't see this happen with places like Madison square garden or other iconic buildings. The problem is we don't see it anywhere else because other cities don't try to create and renovate buildings. You can't get more iconic buildings if you don't renovate them properly.
Don't know if my autistic brain made any sense but synopsis.
We live in a throw away culture, and we can't get more iconic buildings anymore because 30 years is considered irridemmable.
