As a taxpayer funding this project will we get access to the building during these events? Even for a discount? Calgary is 1.5million people, the "average" Calgarian probably doesn't give two craps about the 2027 world Juniors. Public library, City of Calgary Recreation/Swimming facilities, Public skating rink and outdoor rinks in the winter etc offer much more value to my family than a professional NHL arena ever will.
The 350(?)million the province of Alberta is contributing to the rink would be much better served.. literally anywhere else. Build the green line.
