Not that anyone is asking for my opinion, but the Hoffman signing doesn't move the needle for me. It raises the floor for the pitching situation and is only three years, which is good, but it was a nice-to-have, move, more than a necessity. The lineup is still mediocre. If we fielded this lineup I simply wouldn't be happy. But there's more off-season to come for a month, so we'll see what they muster. I am very happy Ross hasn't signed a terrible contract to a long term deal, screwing over the new GM. It's a huge positive.
