Half year player projections and player grades
Grades for me are based on what I expected from the player this year..
Huberdeau:
GP: 41, G: 18, A: 13, Pts: 31
Projected Pace:
GP: 82, G: 36, A: 26, Pts: 62
Grade: B+
Not a PPG player but with this team and the low offense and the way he has retooled his game is pretty impressive. Still not worth the price tag, but OMG sooo much better.
Kadri:
GP: 41, G: 15, A: 14, Pts: 29
Projected Pace:
GP: 82, G: 30, A:28, Pts: 58
Grade: B
Pretty reliable guy, especially in the third periods. Chemistry with Huberdeau yay.
Weegar:
GP: 41, G: 5, A: 17, Pts: 22
GP: 82, G: 10, A: 34, Pts: 44
Grade: B+
Not quite his 20 goal season but still playing damn well, heart and soul guy.
Zary:
GP: 40, G: 10, A: 12, Pts: 22
GP: 80, G: 20, A: 24, Pts: 44
Grade: A-
No sophomore slump, great 1 on 1 play. I know he won't get 80 games but I still wanted to show what he was on pace for, kind of a Backlund+ pace in Year 2. Love this guy.
Coronado:
GP: 36, G: 10, A: 12, Pts: 22
GP: 77, G: 22, A: 24, Pts: 46
Grade: A
This guy is now a PRESENCE on the ice. Loving it. His shot is wicked and he's playing well defensively too. Just keeps growing in confidence.
Coleman:
GP: 41, G: 9, A: 12, Pts: 21
GP: 82, G: 18, A: 24, Pts: 42
Grade: B
About the usual, what we expect from this guy. Great place to grow Coronato, still gives it his all, heart and soul guy.
Backlund:
GP: 41, G: 8, A: 10, Pts: 18
GP: 82, G: 16, A: 20, Pts: 36
Grade: B-
Still playing fine but just a touch under what we expect from him I think?
Andersson:
GP: 41, G: 6, A: 12, Pts: 18
GP: 82, G: 12, A: 24, Pts: 36
Grade: B
He was a high A earlier but I'm not sure why he doesn't seem to be going after it as much with his rushes lately. Not many points at all in his last like 20+ games.
Bahl:
GP: 41, G: 1, A: 11, Pts: 12
GP: 82, G: 2, A: 22, Pts: 24
Grade: A-
Wasn't quite sure what to expect coming in but he's been a pleasant surprise and he's a young guy too so part of the future.
Pospisil:
GP: 41, G: 2, A: 10, Pts: 12
GP: 82, G: 4, A: 20, Pts: 24
Grade: B-
A bit of the sophomore slump here but he's still a nice presence on his line and doing well defensively. Gotta get his goal scoring and shooting up.
Sharangovich:
GP: 33, G: 6, A: 5, Pts: 11
GP: 74, G: 13, A: 11, Pts: 24
Grade: F
Injury excuse is gone. Brutal first half for Sharky. Good news is he is looking a lot better lately.
Kuzmenko:
GP: 31, G: 1, A: 9, Pts: 10
GP: 62, G: 2, A: 18, Pts: 20
Grade: F
Ouch. At least showing signs lately.
Lomberg:
GP: 38, G: 1, A: 3, Pts: 4
GP: 76, G: 2, A: 6, Pts: 8
Grade: B
Still a ball of fire and gets the crowd riled up and gets his team going. Be nice to have a bit more offense from him.
Miromanov:
GP: 29, G: 1, A: 5, Pts: 6
GP: 58, G: 2, A: 10, Pts: 12
Grade: C-
Didn't really click much with Weegar compared to Hanley.
Hanley:
GP: 15, G: 0, A: 2, Pts: 2
GP: 30, G: 0, A: 4, Pts: 4
Grade: B-
Seems like he's found his spot and is a pretty stabilizing force with Weegar.
Pelletier:
GP: 15, G: 1, A: 4, Pts: 5
GP: 30, G: 2, A: 8, Pts: 10
Grade: B-
Offensive stats not there, but is quite speedy and defensively reliable.
Bean:
GP: 27, G: 1, A: 3, Pts: 4
GP: 54, G: 2, A: 6, Pts: 8
Grade: B-
Don't notice him much which I guess is a good thing.
Rooney:
GP: 32, G: 3, A: 1, Pts: 4
GP: 64, G: 6, A: 2, Pts: 8
Grade: C+
Meh, I guess he's ok, no strong opinions one way or another.
Pachal:
GP: 41, G: 2, A: 1, Pts: 3
GP: 82, G: 4, A: 2, Pts: 6
Grade: B-
I love a physical defenseman and he doesn't seem to be too much of a liability so far.
Wolf:
Record: 14-6-2
GAA: 2.53, SV % = 0.916
Grade: A+
Above and beyond expectations. We can win 2-1 games with Wolf, just like we used to with Kipper.
Vladar:
Record: 6-8-5
GAA: 3.08, SV % = 0.888
Grade: C+
Yeah yeah he's getting the harder matchups and stuff. Had a good run at one point in the season but I have so much more confidence in Wolf.
Other Notables:
Kirkland: A, out of nowhere this guy came to dominate the shootouts and play really well 4th line.
Mantha: C, some good some bad.
Barrie: N/A, not enough games
Duehr: C-, hasn't done much
Huska: A-, pretty happy with him this year except for the offense
Conroy: A-, very happy with the direction this team is going with the youth
