I am sure that Andersson enjoys Calgary and loves playing here. I am also sure that the business comes first as well, and there is ZERO wrong with that. I don't really look at it from one side exclusively over the other.

But hey, I also believed that Gaudreau did waiver on his decision whether to stay or go right until the last second. I do think that Tkachuk mostly enjoyed his time here, considering he still every now and then takes a shot at the Oilers, comes for Stampede, etc. I believe that Lindholm was looking to leave. I believe Toffoli would have loved to stay here - on a longer term extension. I believe that Hanifin would have re-signed here if the money and term were right (more than elsewhere).

I love Andersson, and I am sure that he would really love to stay here. It just has to make sense for both sides. Does he want to be part of a rebuild for a couple of seasons? Does it make sense to retain him during the rebuild or is it better to exchange him for more futures? Does the contract make sense for both sides?

If Andersson is extended, I will be happy. If he is traded (and the package is decent) then I will also be happy. As long as the Flames don't re-sign him to a crippling deal (which I believe they won't) or trade him for pennies on the dollar - or worse, allow him to walk away for free (which I don't believe either is likely to happen), then I will be happy.
