Treliving inherited a superstar drafted already and a #1C. So it went easier and quicker. We really only had to suffer for Bennett and Chucky because Monny was during that short season. But it also shows you even with a superstar drafted already how much drafting high which requires sucking is required.
Now Treliving didn’t leave the cupboards bare since we have Coronato, Zary and Wolf on the roster but we don’t have a Gaudreau. This time around we will have to feel some real pain to get elite talent like that.

And I believe that we are going to need a proven professional, on the ice, to lead these kids. When I say professional, I go back to what I said earlier, factoring in leadership, drive and so many other things.
We are going to need strong leadership off the ice as well. And, with the strongest of leadership on and off the ice, we are going to need some really great luck, strong scouting, etc. A lot of things are going to have to come together to make this a successful rebuild. We need to put the right people in core positions to give us the best possible chance to succeed.
This is not unique to any other rebuild by any other team in this sport or any other!
