Conroy needs to decide who the leaders are going to be through this rebuild, and provide some stability through it. Guys who can bring in, and bring up, the young guys and teach them how to be an NHL player "the right way", as cliche as that is.
Backlund is 35. He's not going to be around through this entire rebuild.
Huberdeau or Kadri? I don't think so.
I honestly think that Lomberg is a great guy to have around the kids. But on the higher skill end of things, they are going to need a couple guys.
Weegar is a candidate of course. I think Andersson is another and perhaps Coleman.
