He'll either sign for 8 years with the Flames or 7 with anyone else. He signed a value deal for his middle contract and now this is his payday, retirement deal.
It'll be full years and probably starting with an 8AAV minimum. It's not a deal I want to see with where we are at in our cycle and already carrying huge contracts on 30+ players. Bad, bad move considering the alternative is to get huge assets for our rebuild in return.
