I know it doesn't make logical sense with our timeline for rebuilding, but if there's one player on the current team I want to see stay through the rebuild and finally (hopefully) lift the cup, it's Ras (it would be Backs, but there's no way he plays that long, sadly).
We've had too many players in the past have long careers with the Flames and get rewarded with nothing, so it'd be nice to see Ras be the grizzled old veteran on a Stanley Cup winning Flames team. Plus, imagine the fun of him endlessly taunting rival fans throughout the playoffs?
Obviously, I'll take a cup that requires trading Ras over keeping him and not getting one, but damn it, I would love to be able to keep him and still reach the Summit a handful of years from now
