I love Andersson and compared to most those guys I feel like he has proven that he means it that he loves being here.
I also think that keeping him doesnt make it impossible to tank. Having Weegar (great deal btw) and Andersson (who should be the next captain) are a luxury to have to teach and shelter the big group of high potential dmen we have. Parehk, Mews, Bruz, Porier, etc. will all need some mentors. Andersson can be good for a very long time, even after we become competitive again. Keeping him will not change us from being and amazing team or mid team, If we suck we will suck. He isnt Quinn Hughes or Cale Makar.
We have already traded away so many players, and will continue to do so, but I think keeping Andersson is the same as keeping Backlund. There is value in keeping him even if he is worth a decent amount. As more of these young dmen come into our lineup we literally will just have Weegar to front all the load pushing random guys into top 4 minutes even if they arent ready. We will end up signing a veteran d,man anyways
