But in the sense of needing to take Trump seriously because while the guy is a joke his words have serious consequences, it's not like we would even consider a world where Alberta, Quebec and Ontario needed to share representation in a legislative body, so the idea of talking about a 51st state is kind of a joke. because Canada would need to be split into at least 7-10 divisions just from a governance prospective.

Ontario would be about the fourth or fifth largest state by population on its own. Quebec, BC and Alberta are much bigger than many US states. Alberta has about 10x the population of Wyoming.
