It goes in cycles for the most part.
The 80's were great for the Flames. They made the quarter finals the first year in Calgary and rarely disappointed for ten more years.
You know what team's generation(s) of fans suffered back then? Pittsburgh, New York Rangers, New Jersey, Detroit, Toronto..lol, LA, Chicago, Minnesota, etc. Some of those teams never got a sniff for dozens of years on end. The list goes on, much longer than of teams that are perpetually successful. Who could we even say that are? Maybe Tampa, although they were pretty bad for the first ten or so years, Colorado I suppose, although they stunk it up a few years back, Dallas..ish maybe.
Who else just goes all out and provides generations of excitement?
