MLB is a pay to win league, you have to back up three brinks trucks for Vladdy if thats what itakes to sign him. If you want to compete with the Yankees, Dodgers, Red Sox, Phillies, etc., you have to be willing to spend with the big boys. Rogers has the money, they are worth more than the Steinbrener's.
Shapiro and Atkins have just made some big mistakes when it comes to spending, everyone and their grandma knew the Springer contract was horrible, and it keeps gettting worse. The Ryu signing was terrible.
If you don't want to spend the big dollars you better be great at drafting and developing talent and signing that talent early. Shapiro and Atkins fail in this regard as well.
