In a year or two is ownership saying hey it's time to start ramping things up? Until they have a solid core I think they need to be patient but I'm skeptical ownership will be okay with that approach long term. Especially if the team isn't drafting high. I think the game plan is to have a team that they think can make the playoffs in 27-28 when the new barn opens. That timeline to me became more realistic when Wolf started to prove he has the ability to be a solid goalie in the NHL. I think top 10 picks in the next 2 drafts and having additional firsts will help them have a decent shot of having a team that can compete for a spot in year 1 of the new barn but becoming a stronger contender in years 2-5 in Scotia Place
