If we follow that assumption then Signhs statement today makes sense as he needs to appear like he will topple the government. This way when the new leader is elected and they sit down to negotiate confidence for the throne speech he has a strong position.
So to answer the question of who he will negotiate with, the new liberal leader.

I see no way he survives politically if he backtracks to make another confidence deal with the Liberals. He would have zero integrity left.
He has, twice now, went out of his way and said "it doesn't matter who the new leader is...the Liberals must go". He may even lose support within the party if he goes down the road that reverses course now.
Shrug....I dunno....Im gonna take him on his word I guess because as much as I oppose his ideologue nonsense, I think he is a very decent man who thinks he is doing the right things.
Gonna be some twists and turns the next little while though...that is assured.
