At this point, without proroguing, then the Liberals could face a confidence vote which send them into a general election without an elected leader. Exactly this. From a democratic standpoint, we don't have a major political party going into a general election without a leader or even run the risk of that happening. I would much rather a leadership convention occurred in the summer when the approval ratings were showing what has come to pass. This is unfortunate, especially with turbulent times ahead but ultimately understandable
