The stories about the Sentinelese, who are actively hostile to outsiders, are also pretty fascinating. There have been multiple attempted landings on their island, including an idiotic missionary, who persisted with his visits until he was killed.
I don't remember which documentary I saw and which tribe it focused on but one of the main reasons they can survive in isolation is because they are free of foreign disease. They have developed to be able to combat what occurs on their island but any foreigner who sets foot could be bringing all sorts of disease that will wipe them out.
