I think the knocks against Pettersson are overblown, especially when I see "soft as butter" as an adjective to describe him. He is as soft as the Sedins were - I hated the Sedins for flopping around the ice trying to draw penalties, but they absorbed a lot of punishment and didn't shy away from it. I think Pettersson even initiates physicality more often. One guy I would throw up as a comparable is Lindholm - nobody is going to mistake him for some kind of a bruiser out there, but he was sneaky strong.
I think Pettersson is going to get a haul - 1st line Cs always do, especially when they are a PPG C, who also hit the elite-level 100pt plateau, and is 26 years old. I think he will continue to produce above a PPG for many seasons in the right environment.
