Well that's a hot take for sure. I would do that trade in a heartbeat, especially when you consider their age, and production over the last 2.5 seasons.
I would absolutely love it if Pettersson would be a part of the Flames. He's exciting to watch, and is a constant threat on the ice. He was a Flames killer since his first year in the NHL, has a great shot, and will be a better option for carrying the puck up the ice than anyone else on the Flames... He just came off 102, and 89P seasons under Tocchet, not in a run and gun system like FLA. Moreover, we have plenty of LWs, both with the Flames and down the depth chart.
Some people here take the pouting in the last playoffs way too seriously. Reminds me of the narrative Don Cherry loved to push about soft Europeans. The kid just needs a change of scenery, and he's as sure of a bet as Eichel was when he hit the market. I would absolutely consider trading anyone not named Parekh, Wolf, and Zary for the guy.
