Especially when they're mostly 19-year-old kids. You can't build a team of grinders when they haven't yet learned to grind. All these kids need to work on their defensive game if they're going to make the NHL one day, and they know it. So let them work for a couple of weeks by defending against the best players in the world their own age. Take those skilled guys and help them round out their skills by playing them in a slightly different role.
And for Pete's sake, PRACTISE! Cameron said there was nothing he could do to fix the team. Well, you certainly can't fix anything if you don't even try. Trying is what practice is for!
