You keep ignoring the part where he flip flopped around on social issues, and was looking like he was going to let himself be rail-roaded by that wing of the party. That is when he rightfully lost Liberal voter support. Had he rejected those who feel Canadians don't deserve personal rights and freedoms, he may have got elected. Instead he made he same mistake these "big tent" people always make.
