This team will not be bad enough this year and probably not next year to get an elite center or even a top 5 pick. They could be bad enough in 26/27 and will almost certainly be bad enough in 27/28 and 28/29 to get those elite players, given the age of their current centers and the lack of any centers in the system. Assuming no trade for a top 6 center they could get those studs by the end of the decade and be competing again by 2032. That would be the timeline I see without a trade for a top line center, just based on how long it takes centers to develop, assuming they don’t draft a bust.
