Now, when I was coaching Elite teams, I could choose a system because I got to choose each player for each position, and thats fine in youth soccer because at that level the gaps arent quite as high.
But if you take a coach, be in Ange, Post, whomever, plunk them into a position where...'this is what you've got, deal with it' and then they're adamant they want to play their own style without being given the chance or resources to re-shape their team...it doesnt seem like its going to work.
It took Klopp a few years to re-shape Liverpool to play Heavy-Metal football, but he was given the time and resources to do it.
Just assigning a manager and telling them to make the best of what they've got does not seem like the secret to success.

Well, my opinion on the Spurs scenario is that this is like that scene in Wall-E where the captain suddenly realizes that the issue has been the autopilot all along. We continue to sack managers every 18 months, and at some point the issue isn’t the manager or his playing style.
But there is a problem lurking here. We have a few tough games in a row this coming week, and we could be a lot closer to a relegation battle than we should be and halfway out of the League Cup. You lose those three and I don’t know if Ange survives that?
You are right though; Klopp was given time, as was Arteta. But they also won things or showed progress. Ange came out and had an excellent first ten games last year. Since then, it’s been poor. I love that he plays attacking football, but at some point you have to show some results.
