Completely agreed about normalizing mental health help. Very sad to see all of this loss and pain. Hopefully it's not too late to get him the help he needs.

Yeah, people with emotional regulation issues probably need help the most.
Unless they actively learn some constructive coping mechanisms and strategies and work through what experiences made them so easy to fly off the handle (and let's face it, most don't without intervention), then their issues are likely to persist through adulthood when stressors only ramp up and multiply. But their ability to deal with stess hasn't changed or improved, and coping methods become maladaptive, like alcoholism/substance abuse.
