The difference between decent players and top-line players is consistency. A lot of really skilled guys in the NHL can’t produce consistently. Whether it’s inconsistent effort, concentration, or confidence, they go on runs for 10 games where they look great, and then they’re flat for 20 games.
Every roster has players like that. They’re complementary, but they’ll never be core guys on a good team. Kuzmenko clearly fits the bill. Remains to be seen if Sharangovich is the same.
