What were some of your favorite first time watches in 2024? This is for movies over 20 years old that for whatever reason you haven't watched until this year. Some ones for me were:
The Set Up - a 1940s boxing movie about an aging boxer whos manager takes a bribe from the mob because he doesn't think the boxer has anything left only he didn't tell the boxer.
Night of the Hunter - one of the most influential horror films about a con man marrying a single mother because her late husband was a bank robber and stole a large sum of money that was never recovered.
All That Jazz - one of the best musicals and movies ever. Fosse was truly the goat
Star Trek 4- hilarious and heartwarming a star Trek movie about whales had no right to be this good.
Y Tu Mama Tambian - a road trip movie about 2 kids who convince an older woman to come along will absolutely devastate you when the credits roll.
They Shoot Horses Don't They - who knew a movie about a dance competition could be so engaging and heart wrenching. Another movie that will stick with you for a long time because of how great it is.
These are just some of mine, that I'd recommend checking out in 2025 if you haven't seen them before.
