It is purely politics. It is now made even funnier because Canada can't set up a powerplay to save their lives... Partially because they left players like Parekh and Yakemchuk off the team.
These kids are absolutely allowed to mock this result. Canada is getting what it deserves. Cameron is getting what he deserves.

Yeah, there is an important spot on the team, for which he is the best player available. Most of the kids at this age have holes in their games, but that's just what you have to deal with.
It was one thing that he got cut - they obviously felt that they didn't need his skillset, and they already had a PP quarterback. However, especially with Shaefer hurt, it became blatantly obvious that they were wrong, and he should be there.
So, while I generally don't like to see kids doing stuff like that in social media, I think he is pretty justified here. And it wasn't rude or nasty, just a 'hey, you guys could use a player like me' kind of a thing. I can forgive him here, and I like that he has a chip on his shoulder.
