Again, despite the usual chuckleheads thinking otherwise, I wasn't making jokes. Thats exactly what I was saying.
The Cops basically had their hands tied and, as you said, essentially hoped that lack of chasing would make the driver 'not drive crazy.'
Its an awful situation. And I'm not normally a vindictive individual...but 5 minutes unsupervised with that driver? And maybe he didnt survive that collision afterall.
