Not so much the salary as just getting rid of someone who is playing terribly and paid to be a lot better. Kolosov has a SPCT of .878, Fedotov .877, and Ersson .872.
They need to do something, and they can't have that many goalies if they add someone. Someone has to be on the way out. The Flames have cap room and can maybe take on an extra asset.
