I'm genuinely curious what makes you so confident that this is different than any other major life decision being made by a child.
Your argument is a great one for puberty blockers as they are reversible and allow kids to work through their gender identity without going through physical changes that are irreversible.

No kid can walk through the door of the GP today and schedule a surgical transition next week or next month. Even minor surgical intervention is done after extensive period of care and many surgeries aren’t even legal until they are at least 18 years of age.
