Or being a mascot for Canada and he would be forced into, especially with Romano gone. Or less Arizona taxes. But yes, that's the secondary tier of talent out there that you'd hope the Jays can get, and they are whiffing.
You'd like to think Ed Rogers has some independent sources to feed him some info on these things, market conditions etc, and not soley relying on the smooth talking Shapiro as the source of all his info as to why they are missing out on players on all tier types.
As for Vlad, yes everyone's number went up after Soto signed, nevermind sluggers. My guess is he's looking for over $400M, how much more depends on term.
