If it ends up being a technical issue then yeah, but the only thing I do is make sure the ad embed code is in the site. After that it's the ad provider that manages which ads come up so any specifics around ads I don't have any access to.
If he wanted to set up something where someone could pay a subscription to go ad free then yeah I would enable that feature on the site.
