Zary is looking really good at center IMO. Not worried about the faceoffs this year as that takes time… virtually every young player struggles with faceoffs to start their career. He’s poised with the puck and making smart plays in all 3 zones. Right now, he makes fewer mistakes than Kadri or Backlund. It could be that he’s getting sheltered matchups at home but he’s impressing so far at centre. Right now, I think he has a good chance to be a solid, skilled 2nd line center in this league. Which is a massive development for this organization.
Coronato looks equally impressive. I know the team is still leaning heavily on the vets (Huberdeau, Kadri, Backlund and Coleman) up front but it’s great to see Zary and Coronato doing so well. They are the offensive drivers whenever they are on the ice.
