I hear you, but you did say "but hey, it's important to be competitive all the time, right?" which seems like a pretty clear shot at management.
Anyway, with respect to finishing in the mushy middle this year and next - while I agree, as Flames fans, this feels like our destiny - in reality, it is very unlikely. The Flames are playing over their heads right now, and are surviving on goaltending and hard work. That's great, but it is very difficult to sustain. I think the chances that they can keep this up all year are pretty low, and the chances that they can keep it up for two years are EXTREMELY low. And next year is the better year to suck, anyway.
As much as we feel we're destined for things to never work out in our favour, I think we just need to be patient. This team is heading down the standings eventually.
