I wasn't a big Suniev fan in his draft year, as I didn't like what I was hearing about his skating, I didn't like the fact that he was playing in an inferior league, and I thought he was being propped up by his linemates-the Nadeau brothers.

It only took a few videos after he was drafted to see quite plainly that I was wrong, and so were the pundits. He skates just fine, and is a good player in his own right. He's a big power-forward who uses his size to drive the net, work his way inside and to win pucks. Best of all, he has an NHL-caliber shot, and according to his coach at UMass, he has an enormous drive to improve as a player in order to make the NHL. Stylistically, and stylistically only, he reminds me a poor man's Draisaitl- a very poor man's Draisaitl. I think he could make an excellent top-6 finisher if he continues on his current path.
