No dude, these are made for side sleepers, which is what I am. They're the lowest profile earbuds ever made specifically for sleeping on your side. They block noise (not active, but quite well, anyway...active noise cancelling would bulk them up, which you don't want for side sleeping). Sound quality is quite good.
