It's like all their buyers are families from Calgary that get hyper focused on what they get in their new build house and go "yeah but extra bonus room for the same price as a house in Calgary without the bonus room and all we lose is hanging out with friends and having fun in the city because even though we say we'll still do those things there's tens of thousands of examples of every one who moves to Airdrie and just stays in Airdrie 95% of nights because it's too far/too much hassle to come and do things".

There's enough shopping and stuff in Airdrie where you don't really need to go to Calgary on weekends and I imagine a lot of people in Airdrie have friends in Airdrie. I wouldn't move to Airdrie or anything but it seems like any other small Canadian city.
