At the end of the day I don't really have a strong opinion on trans issues though. Seems like a mental issue. Which doesn't mean it's not real or people don't deserve to treat it how they want. I do think there is definitely a recent societal aspect to it that has made it more prevalent which is where I think we need to be careful when it comes to children and their decision making for something life altering.

Yeah, because there are now avenues to seek treatment and acquire diverse gender-affirming care that didn't exist before.
The processes for proper care, whether adult or child, is already in place and being addressed by professionals in the field. We're actively taking steps backwards because people are finding utility in hiding their bigotry behind children because they think it will be more palatable. It's not, and it's dangerous.
