And it's not like the European comparables have been awesome either. Germany has been self-immolating its economy for years now, France is in more even upheaval than typical, and much of the rest seem to always be in perpetual malaise. I think a lot of global leaders have been busy chasing other distractions, while forgetting that a productive economy is at the root of every healthy country (and that a poor one is usually at the heart of turmoil).
