When you make a trade for a McTavish you are spending a lot of assets so the expectations right or wrong will be higher immediately on the player. Do you agree with that?
Not everyone is going to be like me or you and understand he’s a young player still developing and the team stinks and needs talent to help him. The average fan sees what we spend to get him and expect a bunch of points right away. That creates a lot of pressure for a young guy.

Expectations go with anything. That’s just a fact of life for an NHL player, any NHL player.
And all due respect for fans, but that should have next to zero impact. Especially for the organization or the player. If either are worried about the fans, their heads aren’t screwed on right. Especially because most/all fans only know a small percentage of what’s really going on and rarely, if ever, do all fans agree on much anyway. It’s just noise.
I don’t think McTavish is all that fragile. Otherwise he wouldn’t have gotten to where he is. Putting him under Kadri and Backlund could be the perfect environment for him to grow. Better than Anaheim, I’d bet.
