I think no other teams will trade their future star players to us so the draft is the best chance that we find the missing 2-3 players, and 2025 and 2026 drafts are crucial for us.
So don't trade any younger player and draft picks, but continue trade older guys for draft picks.

We don't just need a first line centre. We need a first, second and third line centre long-term. Zary and Honzek are not strong bets to be a second line centre. More likely wingers in my view.
I think Cozens can be a good #2 pivot in the right environment. That's what you are hoping for if you go and get him.
We be-moan when other teams make these deals to get a guy that then pops with them. This is what those deals look like. The player you are acquiring is under performing. That's why he's available. Doesn't mean it works every time. But you have to assess the risk/reward of it.
If you can trade a late first, as the primary piece, for Cozens, I do it ALL DAY LONG. Because the chances you get a guy as good as him in the 20s, is very slim. And if he ends up being a 3rd line centre - so what - means he's overpaid maybe by 2M tops.
