You’re funny
If you pay attention to what I have been saying, I always had a simple consistent point of view
Goalies are simply more fungible than people give them credit for and their ability to succeed has a lot to do with the team and happenings in front of them
Flames play a primarily bubble/AHL D against the high octane Lightning and they get lit up… and we are knives out against the goalie. lol
The first time I gave a commentary on what I thought was reasonable was against the Lightning as well. Rittich let in 6. That day, the poison for the Flames was passes from behind the net into the slot and quick one timers. The kind that the best you can do as a goalie is be as well positioned as you can and hope it hits you.
That was one of the games where it hits 6 goals against, and people’s brains break. “At some point you have to make a save”
That guy was serviceable over 5 seasons with the Flames, never sub .900. Never said he was the second coming, but he was a great story
I always said he was a decent goalie, who would do well behind a decent D
Last year with LA, he was 13-6-3 with a .921 save percentage
This year you won’t like his sv%, but a closer look shows that he has been blown out a couple of times (4 on 14 vs Toronto, 6 vs Vegas, and 7 GA vs SJ) but outside of that has 11 starts with 2 GA or less
So long story short, I see you can start off your posts telling us how you feel about yourself (about as even as they come), and then you can tell us how you get triggered by me not blaming a goalie on a bad team night. Just at the end of the day, once you understand my point, I think you will find I was right :-) haha
