Bear in mind, for one reason or another this team hasn’t been able to draft and develop one since 2015. Prior to that it was 2007. Basically, 2-3 top 6 C’s per decade.
If they’re going to make a trade for a 21/22 year old C with top 6 upside, it won’t come cheap. I think it’s going to cost more than a collection of picks and/or aging vets. It’s going to cost a prospect, like Bru or Honzek, or a young player in the NHL now, Zary or Coronato.
If they’re Glames think McTavish is a guy who can hit his potential here, I would also have any of the 2024 picks on the table not named Parekh.

Drafting will be difficult, simply there are likely not low enough in the standings to address this.
Flames won't make a terrible move, however this type of trade is very difficult in my view.
Could take awhile
