My wife spent a large amount of money on a Roomba with mopping feature. I absolutely hate the thing. I spend more time troubleshooting it than it actually saves me.

The vacuum feature is okay. The mop feature is complete crap.

It's connection to the base sensors is super sensitive, and it has to be on the exact right spot. I normally spend a half hour at least fiddling with the piece of junk before it will connect ot the sensors. Then it needs to charge for another hour.

She also bought a cat, so we can't turn the the roomba on, unless the cat is supervised, which kind of defies the point of having a Roomba, as you want it doing its thing when your not around.

We also have a 3 year old who covers our floors in tiny objects that the Roomba gets jammed up on. It can't navigate up the very small ramps that separate our hardwood from the tile in the kitchen and bathroom. A single strand of my wife's hair seems to be enough to jam up the machine. You have to pay for bags for the roomba to empty itself into.

The Roomba has a mop feature, so it has liquid in it. If you turn it upside down the liquid spills directly into the machine, and the machine has no waterproofing for the electronics. We've already had to get one replacement, as a very tiny amount of liquid got into the electronics, which was enough to not actually short circuit it, but convince itself that it had been short circuited and a factory reset can't undo that.

I F-ing hate my roomba and if we hadn't paid like $1600 for it, I would have smashed it with a hammer a long F-ing time ago. Biggest scams on the market. The technology is nowhere near where it needs to be for these things to function on a basic level.

Our Roomba will likely be a reason me and my wife break up. I kind of want that to happen so that I'll finally be able to destroy the damn thing.
