You don’t in a society get to start killing people off for the very thing the majority of people keep supporting,
Except that UH didn't, which is why on multiple occasions they've been found guilty, like this one:

In a scathing decision, a federal judge blasted a subsidiary of the nation’s largest insurance company for focusing on the “bottom line as much or more” than patients’ health, saying the insurer illegally denied treatment to thousands of people. The judge also slammed the company’s medical directors for being “deceptive” under oath.

That's not working within the system. This is knowingly inflicting mass suffering on people already suffering immensely so they make more money to enrich themselves. Maybe if they don't want to find themselves getting shot, they could stop doing that? Since the legal system isn't able to keep them in line, an alternative route was taken.

I get vigilante killings are bad for society. But they are also a sign that things have gone seriously ####ed, and given the large numbers of people who are OK with this, perhaps it's just saying that "ya, it's come to this. Don't like it? Stop ####ing us." And if you don't want to be shot, don't take the job that has you ####ing people. I couldn't imagine the guilt I'd feel in that roll, but these people don't care, because they are psychopaths. They should be receiving counseling and care, not running corporations.

For all the people saying this is unacceptable, what is the alternative? How should justice be found for all those struggling, denied care, living their lives 100% wrapped in their healthcare needs taking all their time and resources, and not having any action available to them that will get them what they paid for in a timely manner(before they or loved one is dead)? Insurance companies know all this, and use it to their advantage. They know they can get away with it most of the time, always come out ahead and even the consequences are just a cost of doing business. So serious question, what should be done?
