Corporations can't have ethics because they aren't free to choose them. They can have ethical policies, if the shareholders approve. But they can't unilaterally decide on their own to do ethical things if they are publicly traded. They need shareholder approval(implicit or explicit). And because of this, the people running the company may have their own ethics, but they are not free to operate the company by them, so if they do indeed have good ethics, they would be unable to be on the board without being in personal conflict of them. So is it really an ethic, if you don't stand true to it? Perhaps this is why so many corporate leaders have psychopathic tendencies? It's basically a requirement due to the structure of the systems we have created.
